This means that for a given .com, .net, .org, etc., you may install and use ONE copy of the script that you purchased. For users who have multiple domains "parked" on a single server, you may use the script for all domains that are parked on a single, physical server, as well as subdomains of a primary domain: http://subdomain.domain.com. Only LGPL scripts like osDate and GPix can be freely re-distributed and re-sold. You may not re-distribute, re-sell, or take credit for any script on TUFaT.com under any circumstances. In addition, for Flash-based scripts, the copyright notice must remain unobscured in the .swf file. For example, in FlashChat, you should not remove the "About" screen which contains this copyright information. Removing it would be a violation of the license. Please review the license agreement that came with your purchase for more details. The exception to this rule is the gallery scripts, which generally do not have a copyright notice visible in the main Flash interface. LGPL scripts like osDate and GPix do not have these restrictions. It's actually in your best interest to keep the TUFaT.com copyright information intact and visible on your script. I certainly do not expect that you'll have problems with the TUFaT.com software, but you should keep in mind that software is inherently complex, and even the most advanced, highly developed products out there have security holes and bugs. Even billion-dollar software products, like Microsoft Windows, have issues. You should always make regular backups of your data and web files, and assume your own security measures and precautions when dealing with 3rd party software, such as the TUFaT.com products. I take no responsibility if using a TUFaT.com product does damage to your server or data. You should thoroughly review the software before installing it on your server, and take any necessary security precautions. For example, if you are using a database-driven product like FlashChat, it is advisable to install it on its own server and own database. Discounted, bulk-license purchases are available for companies who wish to provide these scripts to their customers. For example, if you are a web service provider who wishes to provide a copy of phpFlashMyAdmin to each of your users, this is fine as long a valid license is purchased for each copy that you give to your user. Why $5?I have chosen $5 because I want all users - individuals, students, non-profits, and businesses alike - to be able to afford these scripts, including users in the developing world, where $5 may represent a substantial amount of money. There are so many free scripts on the web that people are accustomed to paying nothing or next-to-nothing for software. $5 is, in my opinion, next-to-nothing. A lot of users have told me that these script are worth much, much more than $5. I would certainly agree with that notion. I believe that charging too much for software encourages piracy. I hope that by offering these titles at the nominal price of $5, users will be encouraged to acquire them legally. RefundsRefunds are not offered for the scripts on TUFaT.com for the simple reason that it is impossible for me to verify that the script is no longer in use after issuing a refund. There have been some cases in the past where a script doesn't work on a particular user's server configuration for various reasons. To this, I would say that the scripts have been reliably tested using PHP's default installation on both Windows and Linux. It's always possible that particular server administrators have changed the settings in various ways, or initiated security blocks of various types, which would prevent your script from working. There isn't really anything that I can do about that. The best thing to do would be to post a message on the forum describing the problem (and no, I don't consider this grounds for a refund), or switch to another server. There have been other cases where a script like FlashChat doesn't properly integrate with a CMS system as expected. For these situations I can only say that FlashChat has been integrated in the default installation of many CMS systems (see the FlashChat information page for more details). If you're having difficulty with the integration, then the best thing to do would be to post a message on the forum (and no, I don't consider this grounds for a refund). As a last resort, you can always change servers. These scripts work quite well on www.aplus.net and www.hostforweb.com. You might try one of those web hosts for your script. Source CodeAll scripts come with 100% of the source code, which is un-encrypted so that you can easily modify it. "Source Code" means all of the PHP files, MySQL table structures, and .FLA files in the case of the Flash-based scripts. Flash scripts are created using Flash 2004 Professionl. If you are using Flash MX (Flash 6), then you may receive "invalid format" errors when attempting to open the .FLA files. To rectify this, you can download Flash 2004 Professional from Macromedia.com (free 30-day trial). I believe that the open source model of software distribution is very effective, because it means that users can offer feedback on all aspects of the code. It also empowers users to add their own features without having to wait for me to do it for them. Please be aware, however, that altering the code does not give you copyright or re-sale/re-distribution rights to the script. By "open source" I do NOT mean GPL (General Public License). A GPL license is quite different than what I offer on TUFaT.com. I usually describe the TUFaT.com license as "open source, but with restrictions on re-sale and re-distribution". Of course, the exception to this is those scripts that are distributed under the "GPL" or "LGPL" desigation. Feature RequestsFeature requests should be posted on the support forum for TUFaT.com. If you need something done urgently, you should note that on the forum, but please understand that software development is a very time-consuming task. Tips may help to get your feature request accomplished more quickly! Here's a rough "tip guide" for you: $5 - $50 = Your feature will be on the to-do list, but not a top priority. Minor feature requests can usually be accomodated in just a few days or weeks. More substantial feature requests can sometimes take several weeks or months, since it may mean that architectural changes are needed. I can usually offer a rough time estimate, although in the past my estimates have been overly-optimistic at times.
