Adding a bot to your chat
The easiest way to add a bot is from the Admin Panel. So go to your admin panel, and click "bots"
In some versions of FlashChat a bot called Alice is pre-installed for you. You can edit Alice by simply clicking on the bot name, or add a new bot.
Bot Settings

"bot name" - This is the name you wish to give your Bot
"bot room list avatar" - Choose the avatar that will display next to the Bot's Name in the Room List. You may choose among any existing smilies to use as an avatar.
"bot main chat avatar" - Choose the avatar that will display next to the Bot's Name in the Room as it Chats.
"log into room" - Choose the room the bot will be in when it starts.
"active when <X users are present" and "active when >X users are present" - You can have your bot enter a room automatically, or you can start the bot manually using the IRC command "/startbot botname" (see Bot irc like commands) from inside the Chat. These 2 settings are for the automatic starting of the bot. You can ONLY use one or the other, NEVER both. You type an integer in the box. Example: If you want the bot to be in the room until there are 4 chatters, then the bot is to log out, you would put the number 4 in the 1st box. Meaning that the bot will be active as long as there are less than 4 users in the room. If you want to bot to login when more than 4 users are in the room, you would put a 4 in the second box. If you leave both settings blank, you will have to start your bot manually in the room. (see Bot IRC-like commands)
"active when a moderator is not present" and "active when an admin is not present" - Prior to v4.4.0 moderators were admins, as of v4.4.0 they are seperate permission levels, so this selection could have either text depending on your version. Either way, checking this box will cause the bot to log out of the room when an Admin logs into the room.
"active when there are no other bots in the room" - As of this writing, FlashChat only supports one bot at a time. You can have several names, but technically it's the same bot and uses the same bot database tables. So for now, leave this setting alone and NEVER start 2 bots in the same room.
"active when a particular user is present" - use the dropdown box to select a user. The bot will only log into the room when that user logs in.
