| Skins License AgreementPlease read this fully before purchasing any skins from TUFaT.com LicenseThe license for skins is simple: you should not re-sell or re-distribute the skins that are sold on TUFaT.com under any circumstances. You should adhere to the "one domain = one license" principle that exists for other scripts. You are welcome to create your own skins and sell them for any price that you want, but not the skins that are available for purchase on TUFaT.com. Please help keep this Script Archive going strong by honoring this license. RationaleThe sale of osDate and GPix skins is part of a larger trend for TUFaT.com. Ultimately, the plan is to distribute most scripts on TUFaT.com under the LGPL designation, and only sell skins and add-ons for those scripts. We believe this will ultimately prove to be a better business model than charging for the core. There are many users for whom even a $5 payment is sufficient to prevent them from using the script. When using an open source product, users are generally more willing to help with the community forum support that we rely on quite heavily. The script is more likely to get better PR, see fixes and new language translations more quickly, and spread into emerging markets faster. If a user cannot get the script to work, there is no money lost, which means reduced potential for chargebacks and other such payment disputes. If a user buys a skin, it's assumed that they already have the script working well, and they like the script enough to want to spend money to enhance it. Unique PricesSome template/skin distributors offer a "unique" price, which is much more than the base template price. The idea is that if the "unique" price is paid, then the skin is removed from distribution permanently, so that no one else can ever buy the skin. At this time, I do not offer such an option in the TUFaT.com purchasing system, although I would entertain such offers on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Darren if you're interested in this. The "unique" price would likely be $500 or more (good designers aren't cheap!) PSD FilesThese skins come with the original PSD file that served as the basis for the design. However, please keep in mind one thing: after slicing and dicing the PSD file into .gif and .jpg pieces, in many cases the pieces were "tweaked" to fit the Smarty templates better. In other words, the PSD file that you receive may not be an exact duplicate of the final design, although it's likely to be at least 95% identical. The PSD files may or may not include the slicing guidelines that were used - it really just depends on who was hired to implement any particular design. Custom DesignsSome users have asked me to create custom designs for their own osDate and GPix websites. Unfortunately, I'm not available for such custom work at this time. I would recommend using a freelance web resource like RentACoder.com or eLance.com. How much should you pay a designer to implement a custom design? It really depends on the experience of the designer, the complexity of the design, and the designer's own experience with Smarty and the script in question (GPix, osDate, etc.).
